Sweden and Zambia have been cooperating for over half a century, with a recent focus on health, energy, agriculture and support to civil society. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) supports off-grid energy through the Beyond the Grid Fund Zambia (BTGF), an initiative of the Government of Sweden, together with Power Africa and in cooperation with Zambian partners, to rapidly scale-up energy access and energy service markets in the country. The initiative aims to bring modern energy services to one million Zambians by 2021.
